ABOUT GAUGE

Helping Our Customers Since 2009

Like many great stories, ours starts with a desire to improve things. From an early age, Mike had a knack for electronics and mechanical things, taking apart and reassembling a radio by the time he was five years old. He began a career working to bring technology into people's lives. First, it was mobile electronics, then it was cellular communications, and then it blossomed into something even bigger.

During an AEMP meeting in Oklahoma City, it became clear to Mike that contractors needed a more comprehensive solution to manage all of their assets regardless of where the data was coming from. At that moment, Gauge's vision crystallized. In 2009, Mike decided to go 'all-in' on his dream, breaking new ground and founding Gauge Telematics. His Midwestern values inspired his approach to Gauge's early years of doing business with hard-working construction professionals. He committed to approaching each customer as a partner to implement and support the solutions they needed to succeed in their specialty.

From day one, Gauge's mission was to find a straighter path to operational efficiency for fleet owners. While telematics presented new opportunities, it only represented part of the equation. Gauge ventured to solve this dilemma by bringing on mechanical and electrical engineers who brought innovative solutions to fleet managers looking to consolidate processes not typically associated with telematics applications.

Meet the Gauge Team

MIKE PAREDES

President and Founder

I am a 20-year veteran of the GPS and telematics industry. My focus has been on the Internet of Things (IoT) enabled asset management applications. I grew up in a small town of 850 people in Indiana. Growing up in the heart of the Midwest taught me that people make the biggest difference. Doing the right thing and keeping your promises are values I grew up with, and they continue to define Gauge today.

BRETT SHARP

Chief Financial Officer

I am mechanically declined, so working at Gauge gives me an opportunity to help people who build things while using a skill set that is more natural to me -- sitting behind a desk. My most important role at Gauge is to ensure our customers enjoy a seamless interaction with our accounting team from the time they receive a quote through our long-term partnerships. I've spent the majority of my career in high-growth software and technology companies.

My wife and I have one son and two daughters. I spend most of my time with them, whether it's watching or coaching their sports, boating, camping, traveling, and breaking up fights. When I'm not with them, I like to relax with a big, bold Napa red.

JOHN J. ADAMS

Director of Operations and Client Success

I grew up on a small farm in rural southern Indiana, where I operated a variety of heavy machinery, as well as worked on small engines. I'm comfortable understanding the role of your heavy equipment and the need to have them available and running efficiently. I have been with Gauge since 2013 as its director of operations and customer success. I ensure our customers have the necessary data to make informed decisions regarding their fleet. Our goal is for your company to remain healthy and prosperous.

My wife and I have two daughters, and when I'm not with my family or working at Gauge, I'm training for triathlons.

JIM STEVENS

Senior Electrical Engineer

Growing up, racing cars and flying airplanes got me interested in measuring and telematics, as both require a lot. I spent much of my career in motorsports with engine monitoring, data acquisition, and telemetry. At Gauge, I try to make sure whatever electronic device that we design or deploy does what it (or we) says it will do. We do not take shortcuts. If we do not have a device that a customer needs, then we get to design one. How fun is that?

My wife and I have two adult sons. When I'm not with family, I'm either fishing or fussing about anything related to airplanes. We have two dogs and, for some reason, a cat.

JOSH BROOKS

Client Services Manager

I'm a people person, and I realized that when I was in college. I worked for a company installing audio equipment in cars. I saw and heard the excitement customers experienced when we completed the work. That's the experience I want Gauge customers to experience. I put things together in order for systems to work in unison to provide an effective and efficient outcome.

My wife and I have a son and daughter, and we enjoy camping as a family. I also enjoy all forms of auto racing.
